MGB Berlinette by Jacques Coune The ultimate MGB? Handcrafted by Belgian coachbuilder Jacques Coune in the early 1960's shortly after the manufacturing of the MGB Roadster began but before the prototype and launch of the factory MGB GT. Less than 56 examples are known to have been built During manufacturing there was a meeting with both Jacques Coune and Sir Alex Issisgonis to discuss the potential of the Berlinette being manufactured by BMC. This however this never materialised due to opinions of many being that the Berlinette design "looked too italian"! Even though they were very well manufactured using Jacques Coune's methods they were not commercially viable costing almost doubt to build compared to the standard MGB. This particular example is 1 of just 12 remaining and is the only car to have been converted into a race car. In most recent years it has competed at Goodwood in 2002 and 2010 by the late owner Mr Bob Ridgard. Since the car was last completed it has been subjected to a full strip down and rebuild including a full driveline (details can be specified upon enquiry). A chance to acquire one of the rarest cars MGB's ever produced.
