This spectacular, show standard, collection quality Austin Healey 3000 MKII BT7 was last supplied by us in 2020. Over the past three years it has been part of a stunning collection in Durham, and prior to that spent six years in a prominent Yorkshire collection. This matching numbers Austin Healey is presented in its supplied colour of Colorado Red with Red trim and Black hood and was built between the 25th and 29th May 1961, despatched on the 2nd June 1961 for Personal Export Delivery to Canada. The Healey was supplied new with wire wheels, heater, adjustable steering column and laminated windscreen. Following re-patriation in 2005, the Austin Healey was subject of an extensive nut and bolt restoration where all parts were re-conditioned or replaced in order to take the car to the highest of standards. The ‘Big' Healey engine was balanced and equipped with a fast road camshaft, the cylinder head re-worked and tuned to run on unleaded fuel, a pair of HD8 SU carburettors were fitted and a Denis Welch tubular exhaust manifold and silencer with twin 2 inch tail pipes was fitted to the car. Further upgrades included a diaphragm clutch and Type 16 brake calipers and servo. From completion of the rebuild to selling to one of our customers in 2013, the Healey covered just 1000 miles, all in dry weather. The Austin Healey spent six years in a wonderful collection and over this time covered a further 1700 miles taking the mileage since rebuild to 2700. The car was enjoyed over summer months and has always proven completely reliable for short and longer distance runs. The car has been on various classic rallies up in the Lake District and on several occasions driven over to the East Coast. Over this period in the region of £2500 was been spent on maintenance and improvements to include front suspension camber kit, electronic ignition, uprated rotor arm, new brass heater tap, new brake pad retainer pins, new alloy top rocker cover and gasket, new ignition leads and throttle linkage. The meticulous previous owner has kept the car in show condition and ensured it is always in a position to be taken out and driven in good weather. Since last selling in 2020, it has been kept in a showroom for display purposes only, and kept in exceptional condition throughout. 357 UXM is quite simply outstanding. Its body colour bright Red chassis is in stunning condition, the bodywork is first class and the paint finish is exceptional. The chrome work is excellent throughout, painted wire wheels are as new, the weather equipment is excellent and the engine bay superbly detailed and ready to show. The leather upholstery is of an exceptionally high standard, carpets, door cards and the desirable early dash and gauges are all in beautiful condition. This desirable MKII Healey is truly top class in every respect and finding a relatively older restoration in such high quality condition could prove very difficult. This is as sharp underneath as it is presents on the outside and is a car requiring no major work and can be driven, toured and enjoyed with absolute confidence.
